A Furry Lesbain Game Safe For Work (SFW)
Unless your boss is a homophobe
TL;DR - Loan Wolf is a charming little game with a lot of quality to it given the constraints of a game jam, especially a Yuri one. This dating sim offers a stylistic art style and an adorable story. Only two routes but easy and worth playing through.
This game is by Team Rumblebee.
GRAPHICS (RATING 9/10)
You will appreciate the stylistic graphics as much as I do. It is a beautiful game. Not much in cutscenes but the character designs, although only three, show off the characters' personalities. Around three to five emotions shown (I counted), we see these expressions match the dialogue. The backgrounds are gorgeous, especially the cityscape one you see in Vicky's Route.
It's not typically as anime as most games would use, and I loved it to bits. I would order a poster if I could.
GAMEPLAY (RATING 7/10)
Gameplay runs as I expected it to from a dating sim made from the ren.py engine. Simplistic but sufficient controls and the convenience of the engine's features. I loved the touch wherein people interacted with the phone, but they could have done more with it. It was like a mini-gallery instead serving only a photo at a time.
WRITING (Rating 8/10)
The writing was good but I wanted more! It is a good short story, a good short game, but I kinda wished I had more to play with. I get that it was a game jam, but it was good stuff. We follow the story of a lesbian werewolf trying to pay off student loans with a minimum-wage job, and also watch her interactions with the people around her.
Also! dialogue was well-written, not feeling awkward for the slightest second. The exposition was just right, too, which a lot of dating sim writers seem to fail at. Show, don't tell. Take notes, guys. Characters did not feel stale at all, and these seem to come with the short story territory; they don't get a chance to go stale.
OVERALL (RATING 8/10)
Short, sweet, and blissful. This is a good game to get your fix of lesbian fluff; if you like lesbians anyway. Or wlw, girl-on-girl fluff. Lady-2-Lady? I'm not a lesbian; I don't know what code you guys use.
Loved the game, though. Super, super cute. Don't believe me? See the Let's Play!
